High quality, sturdy, level. The knockbox saves me a trip across the kitchen to the trash can and is quieter than knocking over the trash. It's elegant and holds the portafilter level.
The shape works but the wood grain has two different colors so it looks like two different pieces of wood glued together instead of a uniform color and the compartment for the porta filter has a rubber button for balance or to better hold the handle, which is already loose. Shipping took about a month. Three stars because while it’s adequate for its purpose, it’s not the quality I expected.
I absolutely adore this wonderful piece of artwork, it has a wonderful finish and I love the wood. I have worked with wood all my working career as a cricket bat maker, so I get a great deal of satisfaction out of things of beauty like this tamping box. It really does accompany all the beautiful other magnificent pieces that are so expertly executed in their different metals. My husband loves this tamper station! He uses it at least twice a day, if not more. But it took FOREVER to get here, over a month.
